About Me

babak_workshop.jpg“Slow journalism” is what I believe in – we can call it also “reflective journalism” or writings where my own subjectivity becomes part of the text. I believe, this is the only way (for me) to be authentic in times of reshuffle and change.

My topics of interest are memory and trauma, migration, new groups and social movements.

I love  film archives and this passion is beyond LISTEN and my next film projects, especially beyound my passion with the unknown film archives of the communist secret services (recently made public in Bulgaria).

Since 2013 I  lead  self-awareness groups  (with the method of Group Analysis).

2016  with Martin Dietrich we started two pilot projects about trauma 2016 in  Bonn, Germany and Italy.

The question about authenticity is crucial for me. This fascination is the power beyond Bela rechka and Goatmilk Festival – projects where I work in that direction. My work in Cuba and the “My Street Project” started with the same philosophy.
